Originally from Hong Kong, David Yu immigrated to Australia in the late 1980s, completed a Bachelor of Property and Real Estate (RMIT) and established the Ausvest Group. Nearly 40 years later, the Ausvest Group spans commercial and residential property development and management, the hospitality industry, car park management, thoroughbred horse racing and breeding and more recently digital immersive events and experiences.  

David is well-known for his unique personal leadership and hands-on approach. He is a long-standing promoter of the quality and character of the City of Melbourne and his personal and corporate dedication to developing and promoting community-based events, including creating innovative digital installations and events in more recent times, has been promoted globally, and has encouraged tourism across Victoria and nationally in recent COVID-ravaged years.
